WWE Champion Roman Reins Reveals Battle With Leukemia

PROVIDENCE, RI

When Pro Wrestling or should we say Sport Entertainment gets real it can come as a shock. Espeically when it unfolds on live tv.

When the October 22nd 2018 episode of long time running WWE Monday Night RAW you can tell something was off when WWE Universal Champion Roman Regins came to the ring in street clothes. The WWE Universal Champion started the 3 hour show with this statement “I feel like I feel like I owe everybody an apology for months maybe even a full year I’ve come out here and focus Roman Reigns and I said a lot of things you know I said every single week, that’s all lies and it’s a lie because the reality is my name is Joe and I’ve been living with leukemia for 11 years and unfortunately it’s back, because the leukemia is back, I can’t fulfill my role. I can’t be that fighting champion and I’m going to have to relinquish the universal championship. I’m not going to lie, I’ll take every prayer you can send my way but I’m not looking for sympathy, I’m not looking for you to feel bad for me because I have faith”.

Roman Regins whose real name is Joe Anoa’i made it clear that he will return to the WWE ring one day. Anoa’i was originally diagnosed with leukemia when he was 22 in 2008. He went into remission soon after and began his wrestling career shortly. Joe Anoa’i has wrestling in his blood the Samoan wrestler comes from a very well known wrestling family. Anoai said “Sometimes life throws you a curveball and the best thing for me to do is to go home and focus on my health, but I want to make one thing clear: By no means is this a retirement speech because after I’m done whupping leukemia’s ass, I’m coming back home. And when I do, it’s not going to be about titles and being on top, it’s about a purpose.”

We here at thecelebritystatus.com wish Roman Regins well and will continue to root for him when he makes his triumphant return to the ring.
